A new blogger on the block

It will be evident from NightHawk that I’m a keen fan of blogging, so I welcome any addition to the blogosphere. One of the newest bloggers on the block is one of the strangest: President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran. You can check out his new blog here.
As well as his native Farsi, the President offers his thoughts in English, French and Arabic which is a commendable effort to communicate with a global audience. So far – in English at least – all we have is a 2,300-word introductory tract which is not exactly in the spirit of blogging where entries are normally short and topical, but it’s a start.
We are also invited to take part in an on-line poll by answering the question: “Do you think that the US and Israeli intention and goal by attacking Lebanon is pulling the trigger for another word war?” I think that we can say with confidence that, if the war was only about words, we would all be a lot less worried. If the President thinks that the Americans and the Israelis want a world war, then the third, fourth and fifth letters of his name may be telling.
