Is this a test or a trick?

However hard I look at this image, I can only see a clockwise movement – which apparently makes me totally right-brain. What about you?
AFTER you’ve tried it, read this explanation.

I love these sort of things.
I saw clockwise when it first started, then started to think about why. After a little while (glancing at the lists and back again, perhaps looking at the detail), I was rather surprised to see the dancer suddenly seemed to switch direction.
I suppose that makes me a left-brain then.

I saw anti first, then read the detail, focused back and saw clockwise.
I keep on seeing both depending on which way I look at it..
Does this make me a scatter brain?

it’s just a test, I thinks. If I look at the picture “from the bottom”, she will turn anti-clockwise. If I look from the top, she will start to turn back. I can change the direction by my thinking! that’s so funny!

No matter how I look at it or what I do, she always seems to be turning clockwise!
I found that when viewing the image in the browser, at first the motion seemed a little jerky, and even seemed to restart after a second or so. But when I downloaded the image and viewed it locally, I saw a uniform, continuous rotation. Clockwise! So the initial jerkiness may be a feature of viewing the image over the Internet, and/or my browser.
I definitely identify more with the “left brain” characteristics listed, so it was a surprise to read that I “use more of the right side of the brain”! I suspect that the left-right brain dichotomy is often grossly oversimplified.

At first I could only see anti-clockwise, but as I looked away and read characteristics, out of the corner of my eye she was rotating clockwise – now I can see her turning in both directions at different times not favouring one over the other. Does this mean I am well balanced? Couldn’t read explanation – no access to page.

Like Jan I first saw her spinning anticlockwise then she appeared to stop and turn the other way. I tried looking again after a few minutes of doing something completely different to see if I got the same result. No, this time she was going clockwise, but after a while appeared to stop and – here’s a new one – wave her leg back and forth facing forwards. (If it’s to do with brain expectations, this is probably because we have a ballet dancer in the family!)
