My new short story

It’s three months since I’ve written a short story but, following encouragement from a friend (thanks, David M), I’ve composed one this weekend that I’ve had in development for four months.

It’s my 27th short story and it’s entitled “A Shot In The Dark”. Check it out here.

If you want to read some of my other short stories, you’ll find them all listed here.

Comments are always welcome.

That is quite a story – it makes me again realize why I am so opposed to guns and war. Too many mistakes.

Exciting stuff, illustrating a philosophical problem!

Thanks for sharing this – an interesting story. I kept waiting for the twist (there’s always a twist) and assumed it would be in revealing that the country was not what you thought (e.g., it was an Iranian sniper taking out an Israeli, for example). Initially I thought it might have been set in the past – maybe someone shooting Hitler, or his parents. Anyway, nicely done.

Very good story. Like the dialogue and the tension. Gripped me.

You are a wonderful writer! I don’t like to read short stories, but you are changing my mind! These are GREAT! Thank you for sharing them. I sincerely hope that these stories bring you the tangible rewards they deserve.

Truly, “Shot in the Dark” left me gasping! Thank you for sharing them, and for awakening me to the short story.

Yes, I have read your latest story, ‘A Shot in the Dark’. Enjoyable, you build the tension up well in the earlier part and it draws the reader in nicely.

The ending frustrates in the same way that the hero is frustrated but you manage a conclusion in the last sentence. I can imagine that this sort of cock-up must have happened in the real world.
