Recycle Now Week

Here in the UK, it’s Recyle Now Week.
On average, we throw away our own body weight in rubbish every seven weeks, so there’s a lot that each of us can do to help.

In green waste the Government regulations do not allow you to put anything other than garden waste in the ‘green’ waste bin. I can understand why they do not want any cooked waste, but peelings both fruit and vegetables – maybe its because the use of pesticides is too heavy for the Council to deal with.
So what you would ‘compost’ in your own heap – is not acceptable to the authorities. Leading Question – why not?
