The new seven wonders

There’s a global poll to select a new seven wonders of the world. The shortlist consists of 21 locations and I’ve been fortunate enough to visit 14 of them.
The New 7 Wonders of the World will be announced during the Official Declaration ceremony in Lisbon, Portugal on Saturday, 7 July 2007.

It doesn’t look like you can vote for the pyramids at Giza. I realize they’re the only surviving wonder of the original seven, but I’d keep them on the list!

I forgot to ask… Which ones have you seen, Roger?

  • Roger Darlington

    • Great Wall
    • Hagia Sophia
    • Machu Picchu
    • Petra

Did you not visit Kiyomizu in Kyoto, Roger? Even so, 14 of 21 is an impressive achievement and far greater than my tally 🙁

  • Roger Darlington

You’re right, Calvin. I’ve checked my diary and I visited Kiyomizu Temple on 9 October 1998. I saw several temples in Kyoto and I had forgotten the actual names.
    So that’s 15 out 21 wonders then!
