Say hello to my first grandchild (2)
I’ve been away for a couple of days attending the Oxford Media Convention, but I can now up-date you on my darling granddaughter.
She was born at 8.30 am on Monday morning in St Thomas’s Hospital opposite the Houses of Parliament. That evening, Vee and I spent three hours in central London helping Emily and Richard take the baby back home.
It was a real thrill to see the baby so soon and here are another couple of photographs.

Congratulations to you all. Children really bring something special into a family. Everyone always coo over how beautiful a child is even with a contorted red face but this time it’s the truth. Must be good genes. Lovely view from the hospital too. Anyone would be proud to be born there. Enjoy being wrapped around those tiny fingers Roger, you’re now a slave to a little bundle of joy.

She is indeed beautiful. Congratulations all round. You now get to hold her, kiss her, spoil her, love her, guide her with your wisdom and humour through the twists and turns of life-all this, and you can give her back to Richard and Emily when she cries!!
Make sure you’re around for her first day being a grown up, wherever and whatever that might be.
All the best to you and the family.
