The Shard rises higher

This week, I was walking across Southwark Bridge to Ofcom headquarters in London and could not fail to notice how the nearby Shard building is rising higher and higher.

Shard London Bridge, previously known as London Bridge Tower and also known as the Shard of Glass and The Shard, is a skyscraper under construction in Southwark, south London. When completed in 2012, it will be the tallest building in London, the United Kingdom and the European Union.

The tower will stand at 310 metres (1,017 feet) tall and have 72 floors, plus 15 further radiator floors in the roof.

For a picture of what it will look like and further information, go to the official site.
