Here’s my top three:
1. Cannonball Adderley – Somethin’ Else (in which tenor man Adderley trades licks with the sublime Miles Davis)
2. Horace Silver – Blowin’ The Blues Away (a real cobweb clearer; aggressive and punchy with all five musicians to the fore)
3. Dexter Gordon – Cheesecake (superb piece of tenor work off an excellent album (called Go!))
