Further impressions of Paris

I’ve just returned from my second weekend in Paris in five weeks. This one was with my sister Silvia. The weather was not so good – rain and wind – but we still saw a lot and had fun.
Again I visited the Eiffel Tower but again we could only go to the second stage because of the strong wind. Again I visited Notre Dame Cathedral and this time we were also able to get to the Sainte-Chapelle with its magnificant stained glass windows.
Again I went to the Louvre but this time we looked at a few new things. Again I went to the Musee D’Orsay but this time it was open so we were able to view the splendid French Impressionist paintings.
This morning, while Silvia went to mass, I strolled up to the Sacre Coeur and around the Place du Tertre.

In the three evenings that we were there, we ate French, Italian and Indian and we saw three films: “Casino Royale” [my review here], “Scoop” [my review here] and “Shortbus” [my review here].

Glad you had a good time, Roger, but it seems an awful waste of being in Paris to spend time in cinemas watching English language films. I’m sure you can’t have exhausted other entertainment possiblities. In which area do you prefer to stay when you visit Paris?

I don’t so much choose a location to stay as go with the flow of the circumstances. Usually I’m attending a conference or meeting and stay close to the venue. The last two visits were short holidays but the travel and acoomodation was booked on-line for me by others.
