What the Americans think about the new British prince

I’ve just had this message from a good friend in the United States:

“I thought you would like to know that the christening of Prince George was a top news story on all three national tv network news programs. If you Republicans ever succeed in abolishing the  monarchy, I do believe the American people will revolt to restore the royal family to their proper place in British society.”

    Many Europeans are just the same. I am currently working in Italy, and knowing I am British, large numbers of people came up and congratulated me on Prince George’s christening – as though I was personally involved!
