Hail the conquering hero: family triathlon star returns in glory

A week ago, I did a posting about how one of Vee’s nephews, David Rowe, had successfully competed in this year’s annual World Ironman event in Hawaii. Last night, he returned home to London and five family members – plus banner – were there to greet and congratulate him.

Just a reminder of what David achieved. First, he swam 2.4 miles (3.9 kms) in 1 hour 4 minutes 50 seconds; then he rode a bike for 112 miles (180 kms) in 5 hours 23 minutes 24 seconds; and finally he ran a marathon of 26.2 miles (42 kms) in 3 hours 54 minutes 31 seconds.
