A snowy London
On the outskirts of London where I live, we had a heavy downfall of snow overnight, much of the snow is still in place, and now the problem is freezing ice. However, I managed to travel into central London where amazingly there was no snow.
- I went into the City Lit, where I did my short story writing course last term, and delivered a copy of my story “An African Adventure” for a competition to publish selected stories in the college magazine in the early summer.
- I went to the British Film Institute, which has the largest screen in the country, to see a 3D IMAX version of the James Cameron movie “Avatar” [my review here].
- Finally I went to the House of Commons for a reception to mark the merger of two trade unions: Connect – for whom I do some consultancy work – and Prospect.
