Our triple celebration (2)

Well, yesterday Vee and I had our triple celebration and it was a wonderful event with a total of 52 family and friends round at our house. We held the event on the terrace but, since it rained and rained and rained, in the morning we’d put up a large gazebo which kept us all dry.

We had asked our son Richard to say a few words and he gave a very fluent and funny little speech. I responded in light-heated manner. Many people brought gifts but, in all the confusion, we’re not sure who gave us what, so many thanks to all.

The event was billed as running from 2 – 6 pm. However, the first guests – a group of four relatives from South Wales – arrived one hour early, while the last to leave departed at 9.30 pm (but they were relatives helping with the clearing up).

Richard delivers his speech while Roger listens proudly
On the left: Roger’s half-brother Chris
On the right: Roger’s brother Ralph with Ralph’s daughter Saskia

So it was long day – but a most enjoyable one. We have wonderful families and great friends and it was really fun to celebrate with them our first 25 years together.

PS Friday was dry and it hasn’t rained at all today.

    Roger,
once again, many congratulations to you and Vee for the huge success of this big event. we all enjoyed it very much and we felt so happy to meet so many of your close friends and family members.
    ps: about weather:
maybe it was because the ‘weather controller’ feels sad and then cried since you haven’t sent the invitation letter to him/her for such a lovely event!
