The most expensive cup of coffee
Sometime ago, I did a blog posting about the most expensive cup of coffee in the world. This followed an experience where a colleague bought me a cup in a London hotel at the utterly outrageous price of £5.20 – but at least that was in the rich West.
I’ve just returned from a three-week trip to China where I had another sky-high expensive experience in purchasing a cup of coffee. It was at Chengdu Airport from where I flew home. The cost was 58 yuan. At the current exchange rate, that’s £5.50 which is even more than the London price – and this is in a developing country rather than in the East.
