How to use time well

People often ask me how I manage to do so much – and I answer simply that “I plan”.

This Friday’s visit to the Life Skills section of my web site is a highlight of my advice on “How to use time well” which you can read here.

Even I will be taking it easy over Christmas and the New Year though!

Thanks Roger. I do OK with the daily and weekly but things that are less frequent seem to sometimes drop off the plan. For example I went to the dentist for a check up this week, thinking it was about a year since I’d been, and it turned out to be almost three years!

Do you have any particular computer applications to help you keep track and remind you of these sorts of things?

    All the best,

    Nadine

    Hi, Nadine.

I’m really surprised by your experience with your dentist. In the old days, my dentist sent me a reminder through the post every six months. These days, the dentist sends me a reminder by text to my mobile.

For long-term reminders – like top ups of injections – I put a note in my calendar on my iPhone which already has all reminders for birthdays and anniversaries. Of course, the iPhone is with me everywhere so I never have a excuse for missing a date.

Incidentally I decided to see how far ahead the iPhone will provide a calendar. It is not just centuries but millennia! That should cover not just my life but the existence of humankind!!
