Who brought down the Twin Towers? (2)

When I blogged about this a couple of days ago, I knew that many Americans believed – notwithstanding all the evidence – that their own government was responsible for deliberately bringing down the Twin Towers and World Trade Center 7. What I didn’t full appreciate is that at least 75 American professors supprt this bizarre conspiracy theory. But this is the case as explained in this article. Naturally they have their own web site Scholars For 9/11 Truth.
Me? I go along with Christopher Pyle, professor of constitutional law at Mt Holyoke College: “To plant bombs in three buildings with enough bomb materials and wiring? It’s too huge a project and would require far too many people to keep it a secret afterwards. After every major crisis, like the assassinations of JFK or Martin Luther King, we’ve had conspiracy theorists who come up with plausible scenarios for gullible people. It’s a waste of time.”
Besides all the other compelling arguments aginst the conspiracy theory, consider how it would be possible for so many people to keep total silence for five years. When the Nixon administration tried to cover up the Watergate burglary – a really tiny crime compared to what the conspiracy theorists declare in respect of 9/11 – there was Deep Throat who could not contain his abhorence at the falsehood. Where is the Deep Throat for the Twin Towers conspiracy?
