London’s three Olympics: 1908, 1948, 2012
London is the only city to have hosted three Olympic Games. The first was in 1908, the second was 1948 (the year I was born), and this third is this week.

According to Jonathan Freedland in The Long View, surprisingly there was more corporate branding inside the 1908 London Olympic stadium than there will be in 2012. In 2012, there will be no advertisements in the Olympic stadium, but the corporate sponsors will be given advertising rights in London and on TV.
