Would you like to chair the Essential Services Access Network?

The Essential Services Access Network (ESAN) is a grouping of consumer and voluntary organisations working on a cross-sectoral basis with regulators and Ombudsman services. ESAN strives to ensure that services which are essential to life, health and well-being (currently energy, water, financial services and communications) meet the needs of consumers, particularly those in vulnerable circumstances.

After three years at the helm, I am stepping down as ESAN Chairman. The Network is now seeking a new Chairman to take ESAN forward for the next three years.

We are looking for someone with a good understanding of consumer issues, especially around vulnerable consumers. Ideally you will have experience of the regulatory and legislative frameworks that govern the provision of essential services. You should have good interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to chair meetings effectively and impartially; and be able to build and maintain good working relationships with ESAN members, external organisations, policymakers and service providers.

ESAN holds four members’ meetings each year and the occasional external event. Trustees meet together in between members’ meetings as necessary.

If you would like to find out more about the role, please contact our Vice-Chairman, Matt Vaughan Wilson by email at: matt.vaughanwilson@moneyadvicetrust.org
