I got three right (the Oct revolution, cat gut and George IV) and two near misses (the 100 years war, where my memory played me false and I went for 114, and the black box, which I answered luminous yellow). Do I get half a point for the near misses?

I got numbers 2,4,6,7, and 9 right – but who transposed the Canary Islands to the Pacific?

You’re just too clever, Janet. The quiz came from the USA and I corrected the spelling of ‘color’ but overlooked the mistake concerning the Canary Islands. No wonder the Americans are making a mess of Iraq!
