﻿{"id":986,"date":"2008-06-22T19:00:39","date_gmt":"2008-06-22T18:00:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rogerdarlington.me.uk\/wordpress\/?p=986"},"modified":"2008-06-22T19:00:39","modified_gmt":"2008-06-22T18:00:39","slug":"political-blogging-in-the-uk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.rogerdarlington.me.uk\/nighthawk\/?p=986","title":{"rendered":"Political blogging in the UK"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NightHawk has been described as a political blog, but I think of it as a personal blog that reflects the fact that politics &#8211; both national and international &#8211; is a major interest of mine.<br \/>\nThere are only four political blogs in the UK that have a really large readership:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.iaindale.blogspot.com\/\">Ian Dale&#8217;s Diary<\/a>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.order-order.com\/\">Guido Fawkes<\/a>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/conservativehome.blogs.com\/\">Conservative Home<\/a>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/politicalbetting.com\/\">Political Betting<\/a><\/ul>\n<p>One way of looking at these blogs is that they have a strong Right of Centre position; another way of looking at it is that they are essentially critical of the government of the day which &#8211; for 11 years now &#8211; happens to be Labour. I hope that Labour supporters like me won&#8217;t wait for the party to lose office before they correct the political bias in UK blogging.<br \/>\nToo much of the blogosphere seems to be oppositional &#8211; but blogging should involves positive messages as well as challenging ones.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NightHawk has been described as a political blog, but I think of it as a personal blog that reflects the fact that politics &#8211; both national and international &#8211; is a major interest of mine.
