It is a fascinating country as I found when <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rogerdarlington.me.uk\/Istanbul.html\">I visited Istanbul<\/a> a couple of weeks before Islamic militants killed the British Consul General and others.<br \/>\nThe latest bombings are attributed to a group which calls itself Kurdistan Freedom Falcons which is campaiging for an independent homeland of Kurdistan. But what exactly is Kurdistan?
