At the moment, we have two close Czech friends staying with us for a few days and they&#8217;ve drawn our attention to a different Presidential race than that in the USA  but one that surprisingly also involves an American.<br \/>\nWe&#8217;re talking here about the presidency of the Czech Republic, originally held by former anti-Communist dissident and political prisoner Vaclav Havel but currently occupied by the Right-wing and Euro-sceptic former Prime Minister Vaclav Klaus. It ought to be a walkover for Klaus to win a second term, but there&#8217;s a chance that he&#8217;ll be opposed by a Czech American who works for the World Bank. He&#8217;s called Jan Svejnar and he has the support of Vaclav Havel.<br \/>\nYou can learn more <a href=\"http:\/\/www.praguepost.com\/articles\/2007\/12\/12\/u-s-economist-could-oust-klaus.php\">here<\/a>.<br \/>\nThis is not a battle on a par with Hillary Clinton vs Barack Obama &#8211; but it might be fun to watch.
