It is estimated to run on anything between 1M and 50M computers and those who&#8217;ve put it together clearly have nefarious purposes in mind.<br \/>\nYou can read more about it <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Storm_botnet\">here<\/a>.<br \/>\nIn today&#8217;s &#8220;Observer&#8221; newspaper, John Naughton writes of 2008:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;we may finally discover what the Storm &#8216;botnet&#8217; &#8211; the colossal network of compromised Windows machines someone has been covertly building over the past year &#8211; is for. My hunch is that the net is headed for its own version of 9\/11. So enjoy it while it lasts.
