{"id":6304,"date":"2011-07-27T17:05:53","date_gmt":"2011-07-27T16:05:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rogerdarlington.me.uk\/nighthawk\/?p=6304"},"modified":"2011-07-27T17:07:13","modified_gmt":"2011-07-27T16:07:13","slug":"39-stops-on-the-london-underground","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.rogerdarlington.me.uk\/nighthawk\/?p=6304","title":{"rendered":"39 stops on the London Underground"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/London_Underground\"> London Underground<\/a> system &#8211; popularly known as the Tube &#8211; is the oldest in the world (it opened in 1863) and the second largest in the world (only Shanghai is larger).<\/p>\n<p>Today I made one of the longest tube journeys of my life by travelling from Sudbury Hill on the Piccadilly Line to Hornchurch on the District Line &#8211; a journey of 39 stops. I was visiting the organisation <a href=\"http:\/\/www.w4b.org.uk\/\">Wavelength<\/a> &#8211; which provides free radio and television sets to needy individuals &#8211; as part of my new role as the Chair of the Digital Consumer Expect Group.
