The USA does not have <i>any<\/i> legal minimum for paid leave &#8211; and even many professionals are only given a couple of weeks by their employer. In Canada and Japan, workers are guaranteed only 10 days of paid leave per year.<br \/>\nHere in the European Union, the Working Time Directive gives workers in all member states a minimum of 20 days paid leave. In practice, the variation is from 28 days (that&#8217;s us in the UK) to 39.5 in Denmark.
