It was his first visit to the city, so I just wanted him to have a quick overview of the main tourist locations.<br \/>\nWe started at Buckingham Palace where our arrival coincided with the colourful ceremony of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.royal.gov.uk\/output\/Page4933.asp\">Changing of the Guard<\/a>. Then we wandered through St James&#8217;s Park and up to Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square. After some lunch at the Middle Eastern cafe <a href=\"http:\/\/www.londontown.com\/LondonInformation\/Restaurant\/Gabys\/0d42\/\">&#8220;Gaby&#8217;s&#8221;<\/a>, we strolled around Trafalgar Square, down Whitehall (including Horses Guards), around Parliament Square, outside the Houses of Parliament and over Westminster Bridge.<br \/>\nWe spent a couple of hours on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.southbanklondon.com\/index.php?pid=1\">South Bank<\/a> which was heaving with activity. There were lots of people dressed up as different kinds of statues or characters, including one guy made up like Johnny Depp in &#8220;Pirates Of The Caribbean&#8221; and another guy who did amazing things with four small &#8216;floating&#8217; globes. Four black kids put on an acrobatic display of break-dancing and there were all sorts of musicians. Finally there was a temporary fountain display with a changing format and the little kids were loving running in and out of it.<br \/>\nThe weather was great &#8211; so who could ask for more.
