Some of this is celebrated in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishmuseum.org\/whats_on\/future_exhibitions\/afghanistan.aspx\">a current exhibition<\/a> at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishmuseum.org\/default.aspx\">British Museum<\/a> which my wife and I visited this morning.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibits come from four archaeological sites in the north of the country: Tepe Fullol, Al Khanum, Begram and Tillya Tepe.<\/p>\n<p>One of the most beautiful exhibits is a gold crown from Tillya Tepe which is dated 1st century AD. This  astonishing object was found in the tomb of a nomadic woman.
