This year&#8217;s theme highlights the increasing significance of water scarcity worldwide and the need for increased integration and cooperation to ensure sustainable, efficient and equitable management of scarce water resources, both at international and local levels.<br \/>\nIn <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wwf.org.uk\/news\/n_0000003679.asp\">a report<\/a> published this week to coincide with World Water Day, the leading conservation group<a href=\"http:\/\/www.wwf.org.uk\/core\/index.asp\"> WWF-UK<\/a> has warned that many of the world&#8217;s biggest rivers, including the Nile, Ganges, Yangtze and Danube (all of which I have visited), are facing catastrophic collapse due to man-made problems.
