{"id":3766,"date":"2010-09-30T10:45:35","date_gmt":"2010-09-30T09:45:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rogerdarlington.me.uk\/nighthawk\/?p=3766"},"modified":"2010-09-30T10:46:24","modified_gmt":"2010-09-30T09:46:24","slug":"my-connected-unborn-granddaughter-we-think","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.rogerdarlington.me.uk\/nighthawk\/?p=3766","title":{"rendered":"My connected (unborn) granddaughter (we think)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last week, I met my colleagues on the newly-formed Policy Stakeholder Committee of Nominet.\u00a0 Those eight people are all intense users of the Net but interestingly none of us chooses to be an active user of social networking sites.<\/p>\n<p>But I&#8217;m due to become a grandfather in early January and my lovely daughter-in-law has just advised me that my future granddaughter (we think) is now on Facebook:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The baby (unlike the parents) has gone online and now has it&#8217;s own email and facebook. The  purpose of the page is to update you all on the baby&#8217;s progress. \u00a0It is  also a place where you can pass on advice to the little one. We  also wanted to make sure that the little monkey didn&#8217;t miss out on any  social event because of her parent&#8217;s reluctance to share our life  online.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>So I&#8217;ve joined Facebook at last, looked at the scan pictures of the baby, and sent her a message.
