(2)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I wasn&#8217;t able to attend last night&#8217;s debate between my friend Eric Lee and Sean Matgamna of the Alliance for Workers Liberty and, in any event, I confess that such far-Left fora are not my natural habitat. But I care deeply about what is happening in the Middle East and welcome Eric&#8217;s publication online of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ericlee.info\/2006\/07\/in_support_of_israel_notes_for.html\">his notes for the debate<\/a>. I still believe that Israel&#8217;s reaction to the provocations has been grossly excessive and ultimately self-defeating, but I support Israel&#8217;s right to exist and to defend itself. Now we must have an immediate ceasefire.
