{"id":3405,"date":"2010-08-24T17:30:24","date_gmt":"2010-08-24T16:30:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rogerdarlington.me.uk\/nighthawk\/?p=3405"},"modified":"2010-08-26T21:49:20","modified_gmt":"2010-08-26T20:49:20","slug":"birth-and-death-in-cornwall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.rogerdarlington.me.uk\/nighthawk\/?p=3405","title":{"rendered":"Birth and death in Cornwall"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was interested in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/uk-11074163\">the news<\/a> that, while on holiday in Cornwall, the Prime Minister&#8217;s wife Samantha Cameron has unexpectedly given birth to a baby girl, their fourth child, who arrived at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro.<\/p>\n<p>My wife&#8217;s father &#8211; the Czech wartime night fighter ace <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rogerdarlington.me.uk\/nighthawk.html\">Karel Kuttelwascher<\/a> &#8211; was taken to this hospital when he became ill while on holiday and died there of a heart attack on 17 August 1959. He was just 42.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, until Cherie Blair had a baby in 2000 while her husband was Prime Minister, no premier&#8217;s wife had given birth for more than 150 years. Now it has happened again, after just 10 years.
