According to the vendor&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.powerbalance.com\/\">web site<\/a>: &#8220;Power Balance  is Performance Technology designed to work with your body\u2019s natural  energy field.   Founded by athletes, Power Balance is a favorite among  elite athletes for whom balance, strength and flexibility are important.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>And how exactly does the hologram work? The web site claims: &#8220;Power  Balance is based on the idea of optimizing the body\u2019s natural energy  flow, similar to concepts behind many Eastern philosophies.  The  hologram in Power Balance is designed to resonate with and respond to  the natural energy field of the body.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Of course, &#8216;energy&#8217; is a tricky concept that, in this context, is almost meaningless.
