{"id":3206,"date":"2010-07-31T11:23:01","date_gmt":"2010-07-31T10:23:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rogerdarlington.me.uk\/nighthawk\/?p=3206"},"modified":"2010-07-31T11:24:07","modified_gmt":"2010-07-31T10:24:07","slug":"my-role-in-the-london-olympics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.rogerdarlington.me.uk\/nighthawk\/?p=3206","title":{"rendered":"My role in the London Olympics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This week marked the point at which we are exactly two years away from the holding of the<a href=\"http:\/\/www.london2012.com\/\"> Olympic Games<\/a> in London in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Now I confess that, atypically for a man, I&#8217;m not very interested in sport.\u00a0 But I&#8217;m delighted that London will be hosting the Games in 2012 because I think it will be great for the city in which I&#8217;ve lived and worked for 40 years.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;d like to play my small part in making the event a success and, since I&#8217;m now technically retired, I could make the time. I love meeting people from other countries and cultures and would like to connect with some of the people travelling to London for the Games.<\/p>\n<p>So I&#8217;ve signed up to be a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.londonambassadors.org.uk\/\">London Ambassador<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This week marked the point at which we are exactly two years away from the holding of the Olympic Games in London in 2012.
