He has now &#8211; after much pressure and delay &#8211; agreed to go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The selection of a new candidate is uncharted territory. I would like to see a contest rather than a coronation. Kamala Harris might be the person to beat Donald Trump, but I&#8217;m not sure of that. At this stage, I would back Gavin Newsom, the Governor of California.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We&#8217;ll see.
