Then there are 4 gauge bosons \u2013 gluon, W and Z bosons, photon.<br \/>\nBut there might be more fundamental particles and there is particular speculation over the existence of something called the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fundamental_particles#Higgs_boson\">Higgs boson particle<\/a> (sometimes known as the God particle).<br \/>\nIn 2007, there may be new discoveries as a result of the coming into operation of the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/CERN#The_accelerator_of_the_future:_the_LHC\">Large Hadron Collider<\/a> at <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/CERN\">CERN<\/a> in Switzerland.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So far, we know of 16 elementary or fundamental particles &#8211; and they have wonderful names.
