Today I received an e-mail from a member of the Youth Parliament of Pakistan,<\/a> an impressive young man called Ahmad Noor<\/a>.\u00a0 I confess than I had never heard of this organisation before, but I think the idea of a Youth Parliament is a wonderful one, especially in countries (dare I say it, like Pakistan) where democratic values are fragile and threatened.<\/p>\n Some 45 years ago, I was School Captain at my secondary school in Manchester in the north of England and I founded a School Council with elected representatives from every class in the school.
