Like most Labour supporters, I&#8217;m hoping that we might yet see a Labour-Liberal coalition government.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, as a Labour supporter, my gloom at the national result is tempered by some fantastic local results.<\/p>\n<p>I blogged earlier about the result in my Parliamentary constituency of Brent North where sitting Labour MP Barry Gardiner was returned with a majority of\u00a0 8,000 and a swing against him of only 2.3%.<\/p>\n<p>Further data <a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/shared\/election2010\/results\/constituency\/a63.stm\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I now have the results for my London borough which is Brent. A Conservative-Liberal administration has been replaced by a majority Labour administration in a stunning result:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Labour<\/strong> &#8211; 40 (21 seats gained)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Liberal<\/strong> &#8211; 17 (10 seats lost)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conservative<\/strong> &#8211;\u00a06\u00a0(9 seats lost)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other<\/strong> &#8211; 0 (2 seats lost)<\/p>\n<p>Further data <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brent.gov.uk\/home.nsf\/news\/LBB-1125\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I live in the bluest part of the borough in the Northwick Park ward and I&#8217;ve never had a Labour councillor, but amazingly Labour took one of the three seats in my ward.
