An important part of this is the &#8220;Know your consumer rights&#8221; campaign which kicks off today.<br \/>\nSince Consumer Focus (on whose Board I sit) is one of the campaign partners, our CEO Ed Mayo will be speaking alongside Kevin Brennan MP, Consumer Affairs Minister, Ron Gainsford, CEO, Trading Standards Institute and Vivienne Dewes, Office of Fair Trading at the launch at the Bluewater shopping centre, Kent.<br \/>\nThe &#8220;Know Your Consumer Rights&#8221; campaign aims to educate people about their three key rights &#8211; that whatever they buy must:<br \/>\n\u00b7         fit the description given<br \/>\n\u00b7         be of satisfactory quality<br \/>\n\u00b7         be suitable for purpose<br \/>\nand to encourage them to visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.consumerdirect.gov.uk\">Consumer Direct<\/a> or phone 08454 040506 for more detailed advice.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here in Britain today sees the start of the National Consumer Week.
