Tomorrow the two of them set off to drive to the Czech Republic (I know!).<br \/>\nThey are going over there to take part in various events to mark the 50th anniversary of the death of their father Karel Kuttelwascher. He was a night fighter ace with the Royal Air Force in the Second World War and in 1985 I wrote <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rogerdarlington.me.uk\/nighthawk.html\">his biography &#8220;Night Hawk&#8221;<\/a>.<br \/>\nVee will be away for 11 days in all &#8211; the longest that I think we&#8217;ve ever been apart since we married 27 years ago. But, of course, I&#8217;m not totally alone.
