{"id":14556,"date":"2014-05-08T10:47:00","date_gmt":"2014-05-08T09:47:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rogerdarlington.me.uk\/nighthawk\/?p=14556"},"modified":"2014-05-08T10:47:00","modified_gmt":"2014-05-08T09:47:00","slug":"growing-number-of-water-customers-find-bills-unfair-or-even-unaffordable","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.rogerdarlington.me.uk\/nighthawk\/?p=14556","title":{"rendered":"Growing number of water customers find bills unfair or even unaffordable"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The statuary consumer body for water and sewage services is CCWater and it commissions each year a survey of how customers feel about their services and their bills.<\/p>\n<p>The latest annual tracking research report from CCWater is published today and the key findings include:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 One in five water customers say their water bill is not affordable (up from 1 in 8 in 2012);<br \/>\n\u2022 Few than six out of ten water customers consider their water and sewerage charges to be fair;<br \/>\n\u2022 93 per cent of customers are satisfied with their water supply, and 87 per cent with sewerage services; however,<br \/>\n\u2022 Only 70 per cent of customers are satisfied with the value for money of those services.<\/p>\n<p>The press release which provides more highlights is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ccwater.org.uk\/blog\/2014\/05\/08\/one-in-five-customers-say-their-water-charges-are-not-affordable\/\">here<\/a>\u00a0and the actual\u00a0report can be found <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ccwater.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Water-Matters-household-customers-views-on-their-water-and-sewerage-services-2013.pdf\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I am particular interested in the CCWater findings because I am \u00a0the independent Chair of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.southeastwater.co.uk\/about-us\/our-business\/customer-challenge-group#ad-image-0\">Customer Challenge Group<\/a> at South East Water which supplies drinking water to 2.1 million customers in Kent, Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The statuary consumer body for water and sewage services is CCWater and it commissions each year a survey of how customers feel about their services and their bills.
