Here&#8217;s some friendly advice: Don&#8217;t. And if you&#8217;ve already got one, pull the plug. Writing a weblog today isn&#8217;t the bright idea it was four years ago. The blogosphere, once a freshwater oasis of folksy self-expression and clever thought, has been flooded by a tsunami of paid bilge.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This is how <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wired.com\/entertainment\/theweb\/magazine\/16-11\/st_essay\">an article<\/a> in the current issue of &#8220;Wired&#8221; magazine opens.  It&#8217;s led to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/blogs\/technology\/2008\/10\/is_blogging_dead.html\">quite a discussion<\/a>.<br \/>\nThe suggestion in the article is that blogs are being replaced by the likes of  <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/\">Twitter<\/a>. I did try Twitter when it first became popular but it wasn&#8217;t for me. I need more words to express my thoughts and ideas and I want a larger audience that I would have with Twitter.<br \/>\nThe fact that you &#8211; and so many others &#8211; visit NightHawk so often is proof enough for me that I&#8217;m doing something worthwhile as well as enjoyable.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;Thinking about launching your own blog?
