At the start of the industrial revolution, CO2 was around 280 parts per million (ppm) of the atmosphere.<\/p>\n<p>Sometime in the next few weeks, that level could pass the 400 ppm mark &#8211; see report <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/environment\/2013\/apr\/29\/global-carbon-dioxide-levels\">here<\/a>. Global warming and the resultant climate change will have devastating effects on every person on the planet and on generations to come.<\/p>\n<p>We have to act to slow down the growth, halt it, and then reverse it which will take massive efforts by governments, corporations and individuals.
