﻿{"id":10190,"date":"2012-12-13T13:04:26","date_gmt":"2012-12-13T12:04:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rogerdarlington.me.uk\/nighthawk\/?p=10190"},"modified":"2012-12-13T13:04:26","modified_gmt":"2012-12-13T12:04:26","slug":"exactly-100-words-on-being-a-doting-grandfather","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.rogerdarlington.me.uk\/nighthawk\/?p=10190","title":{"rendered":"Exactly 100 words on being a doting grandfather"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My dear friend Ellie Stoneley has <a href=\"http:\/\/crazypregnantperson.wordpress.com\">a wonderful blog<\/a> about her experience of \u00a0conceiving, carrying, delivering and raising her gorgeous baby daughter Hope.<\/p>\n<p>She drew my attention to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.charlieplunkett.co.uk\/blog\">a fascinating project<\/a> being run by Charlie Plunkett &#8211; the mother of Cole &#8211; who is compiling a book of contributions from parents and some grandparents which all have to be exactly 100 words in length.<\/p>\n<p>Charlie has accepted this contribution from me about my relationship with my granddaughter Catrin who is two next month:<\/p>\n<div>\n<blockquote><p>Catrin&#8217;s best fun with me is a climbing game. I sit down with her standing on my lap and holding her hands up in the air. She climbs up my chest and onto my shoulders, standing high and proud, but still holding on to my hands. We then pretend that she falls, but I&#8217;m still holding her hands and &#8216;catch&#8217; her with my outstretched legs.
